Ad valorem property taxes are NOT used to support the water and sewer systems.
Operation and maintenance of our utility must be funded with revenue from the sale of services (water & sewer). The Public Utilities department operates as an enterprise of the County of Montgomery. MCPU’s mission is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient water & wastewater services to support economic development with strategic capital improvement planning and to ensure system viability through sound fiscal management.
MCPU serves two communities with wastewater services and operates twelve convenience sites throughout the County.
Montgomery County Public Utilities (MCPU) serves as the regional water provider for the five municipalities in the County, the Town of Robbin, Woodrun & Carolina Forest, and thousands of residential and commercial customers.
